DMCA Policy

Last updated: November 2, 2026

This DMCA Policy explains how SafefileMe at safefileme.com (the “Service”) handles notices of alleged copyright infringement and how users can respond when their files are removed.

Our Policy

SafefileMe respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects its users to do the same. In line with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), we respond to clear notices of alleged copyright infringement and may remove or disable access to the material identified. We also terminate the accounts of repeat infringers in appropriate circumstances.

Report a File

Use this section to report a file for copyright infringement, malware, illegal content, or other abuse. Send us an email with the details below so we can act quickly.

  • The URL of the file or download page.
  • The reason for your report, such as copyright, malware, or illegal content.
  • A short description of the problem.
  • Your contact details, so we can follow up if needed.

For copyright claims, please follow the notice format in the next section so that we can process your request.

Filing a Takedown Notice

If you believe that a file available through SafefileMe infringes your copyright, send our designated agent a written notice that includes all of the following:

  • Your physical or electronic signature, or that of a person authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner.
  • A description of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed.
  • The exact URL of each download page or file you want removed, so that we can locate it.
  • Your name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address.
  • A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use of the material is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  • A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or are authorized to act on the owner’s behalf.

Please be aware that knowingly misrepresenting that material is infringing may make you liable for damages, including costs and attorneys’ fees. If you are not sure whether material infringes your copyright, consider speaking to a lawyer first.

Designated Agent

Send takedown notices and counter-notifications to our designated agent:

Designated Agent: SafefileMe Copyright Agent

Email: dmca@safefileme.com

What Happens After a Notice

When we receive a valid notice, we will promptly remove or disable access to the identified material and notify the user who uploaded it. We may share a copy of the notice, including your contact details, with that user. Notices that are incomplete or do not identify the material clearly enough may not be acted on.

Counter-Notification

If your file was removed and you believe this was a mistake or that you have the right to share it, you may send a counter-notification to our designated agent that includes all of the following:

  • Your physical or electronic signature.
  • Identification of the material that was removed and where it appeared before removal.
  • A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good-faith belief that the material was removed because of a mistake or misidentification.
  • Your name, address, and telephone number.
  • A statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court for the district in which your address is located (or, if you are outside the United States, any judicial district in which SafefileMe may be found), and that you will accept service of process from the person who filed the original notice.

We will forward your counter-notification to the original complainant. If the complainant does not tell us within 10 business days that they have filed a court action seeking to restrain the alleged infringement, we may restore the material within 10 to 14 business days after receiving your counter-notification.

Repeat Infringers

We maintain a policy of suspending or terminating the accounts of users who are found to be repeat infringers of copyright, in appropriate circumstances and at our discretion.

Other Types of Reports

Copyright claims should follow the notice format described above. To report malware, illegal content, or other abuse, use the Report file option on the download page or email dmca@safefileme.com with the file URL and a short description of the problem.
